Activities: Presentation on Malaria and the role of the Scientist in combating Malaria. 

Facilitators: Quality Health Africa and School Heads, Medical Laboratory Scientists 

Brief Description: Students will have an interactive session with the scientists on the program, it 

comprises of the duty of scientists in various laboratories and procedures in screening for 

malaria. The causes and symptoms of malaria and the various parasites of malaria. 

  1. The National Malaria Control Program will then follow up with a presentation on the duty of 

the National Malaria Control Program in combating malaria and the various activities in place to 

achieve it. 

2nd Session: Environmental Care Project 

Time: 1200GMT-1500GMT 

Activities: Parade through the streets of Newtown with Flyers and Posters (and pick up bags for 


Facilitators: Members of Environmental Protection Agency (Ghana), Quality Health Africa, 

Voltic Natural Mineral Company Community Buyback Project Team. 

Brief Description: School children will engage themselves in group discussions in the school 

prior to the parade on the streets of Accra Newtown. The discussion is on art and poetry. They 

will make their own placards with public advice on what was discussed during the interactive 

session with the scientists. Voltic Natural Mineral Water Company will partner this event since it 

falls in line with their Community Buyback Project where sachet water rubbers are picked from email: tel: (202) 630-3449 

the streets and recycled by Voltic for cash. The cash obtained can be used to renovate the school 

park in time for the football gala between the joint schools.
